New Age Dang Brains
This post is a bit late, but Dan Olsen's New Age Dang Brains just closed last night at Skylab. I "curated" this show. Not to take any credit away from Dan, though. Dan is one of my favorite artists in Columbus and lives in the Skylab building on the 3rd floor. His work is nostalgic, colorful and psychedelic, yet reveals an inner darkness. Dan is a deep ocean, yet often conveys emotional emptiness and spiritual depletion with his work. He also works with sound, and the show had a soundtrack consisting of screwed R & B jams, healing tones, and found karaoke recordings, which he also slowed down.
